User Experience Program Supplement

This statement supplements HMD Global Privacy Policy for products and services.

You can help us to improve our products and services. In case you participate in our user experience program, we process technical details of your device, its performance and how you use it to develop our products and services. We can also utilize data to personalize your services. Data is collected from your device automatically as you participate into the program.

We combine the usage data with your device based on the collected device identifiers, such as IMEI. The usage data is associated with your device to improve the functionality and performance of the device and to personalize our offering. We can share anonymous data (no identifiers) with third-party app developers to help them improve their applications and services. You can opt out from the program from your device’s settings.

Why are we processing your data?

1. Development of our products and services

We process data to improve the quality and performance of our products. This means, for example, to improve the device and applications, enhance the battery life, and to provide more useful features and services.

What data are we processing?

  • User experience program data: Phone identification number (IMEI), mobile country code (MCC), mobile network code (MNC), IP address, SIM card information, phone information (like phone model, phone system and application version), battery information, installed applications and software, information about how often the applications are used, and information about the software crashes and errors.
    • What is the basis for processing data? Your consent: You can opt out from the User Experience Program from your device’s settings.

2. Personalized products and services

We provide you with services that match your profile and interests. For example, we make recommendations and display customed content in our services.

What data are we processing?

  • User experience program data: Phone identification number (IMEI), mobile country code (MCC), mobile network code (MNC), IP address, SIM card information, phone information (like phone model, phone system and application version), battery information, installed applications and software, information about how often the applications are used, and information about the software crashes and errors.

How long is the data retained?

The user experience program data is retained for 12 months after the data is collected or until the consent is withdrawn.

Do we transfer personal data?

The data is stored principally within the EU/EEA, unless the local legislation requires that the data is stored locally, such as in China.
