How can I factory reset a HMD Fuse device with HarmBlock+ activated?

A factory reset erases all data from your device and restores it to its original state. This can be helpful when troubleshooting issues, or when transferring the HMD Fuse device to another owner.

When HarmBlock+ services are activated on HMD Fuse, the factory reset can only be done via the HarmBlock+ app on the linked guardian device.

Before you start, make sure you’ve backed up any important data — everything will be deleted from the device during the reset process. Make sure the device has stable internet connection. If the HMD Fuse is linked to a Google Kids account, you must unpair the device from that account before factory reset can be started.

To factory reset HMD Fuse when HarmBlock+ is active:

  1. Open the HarmBlock+ app on the guardian’s device

  2. Then tap your child’s’ device settings, then navigate to: Factory reset > Factory reset device

After the reset, the device will reboot and return to its original factory settings. It will no longer be linked to your HarmBlock+ account.

To factory reset HMD Fuse when HarmBlock+ is not active:

  1. On the HMD Fuse device, navigate to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset)

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions

Important note for eSIM users:

A factory reset on HMD phones does not remove the eSIM. This means you can factory reset the device without removing the eSIM. To remove the eSIM, refer to the instructions in the HMD Fuse user guide.
