Ever considered a pink phone?
There’s no such thing as too much pink. It’s today’s pop color, not least because of a certain blockbuster film that’s been taking the world by storm. That’s why I’m so happy that our first repairable 5G smartphone,¹ the Nokia G42 5G, now comes in So Pink!
Fashionable: pink is the new black
Repairable phones don’t have to be dull. This standout device is built sturdy. You could say it’s like a cat with nine lives. Nokia phones are naturally known for their quality, reliability, durability and affordability so you don’t really have to worry about breakages, but now adding repairability to the mix, super sizes our offering and helps people keep their phones in hand longer.
We also wanted to make repairability sleek and on trend, first we announced the So Purple phone as it was WGSN’s color of the year and consumers love the dash of color and sustainability. So now we unveil the pink version in the hope that people will continue to ‘Pink different’ about their phone choices and opt for something that doesn’t only look great, but has also been curated with the planet in mind too.
So fast 5G
Looks are one thing, the rest is about how the phone delivers when you’re using it. Nokia G42 5G, you may have guessed it, is a 5G phone,¹ which means that you’re tapping into fast download and upload speeds. With the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 480+ 5G Mobile Platform inside, sharing photos, browsing, shopping, work and play is a breeze with speeds of up to 20x faster than in 4G networks.² That means that when you’re in a rush and need to download the 2-hour Netflix film everyone’s talking about, you can do up to as fast as 40 seconds vs. waiting around for over 13 minutes in standard 4G.³ There’s also plenty of memory to get you from app to app faster, loads of storage and smart background optimization to keep things running smoothly.
So clear pictures
If sharing is caring, then we can also confidently say the Nokia G42 5G is a phone that cares. The 50 MP camera works with some of our smartest imaging AI to capture clear shots that are instantly ready for sharing. Things like Portrait Mode brings your best side to the limelight while Night Mode helps with quality shots after dark. And with OZO 3D audio capture, your videos will sound as good as they look. With Nokia G42 5G, taking clear pictures is for everyone, and not just for those willing to spend their livelihood on a phone.
So much battery
Ever been in a situation where your choice of restaurant is dictated by whether they have a power outlet to plug in your phone or not? It gets even worse when you’ll need to navigate to said restaurant and your phone is screaming in red (not a reflection on the So Pink color of Nokia G42 5G) with 3% of battery left. Worry not Nokia G42 5G owners, this won’t be your life. What may happen though, is that your friends are about to get battery-envy. Walking around with your So Pink phone with a whopping 3-day battery life,⁴ it will keep going while their smartphones reach 0% half-way through the night. And you better get used to it – the battery will keep 80% of its original capacity after 800 full charging cycles⁵ – that’s about four years of charges.
For many of us it’s easy to imagine that in our daily routines we hold our phone more than we hold any other piece of technology. That’s why it’s important for your phone to fit your style and values. We built the Nokia G42 5G with a 65% recycled back cover for a smaller CO2 impact and packed it in 100% recycled FSC®-certified packaging. However, we wanted to take things up a notch and give you more options after those oops moments, when you’re rendered speechless looking at a shattered screen.
Although we’ve tested Nokia G42 5G to take on the knocks of your daily life, we realize accidents do happen. If you’re faced with a bent charging port, a dead battery, or a broken screen, you can replace them all by yourself with the help of our friends at iFixit. Just head over to the iFixit website to gain access to affordable replacement parts, tools and easy-to-follow guidance. Nokia G42 5G is built with what we call QuickFix repairability, meaning that with a bit of spare time and a certain level of comfort with basic tools, in many cases, you can fix your phone without a trip to the service shop, or a worry about losing your data.⁶
