There are two layers of protection against nudity content capture on HMD Fuse. First, when the camera is activated by any app, HarmBlock AI will start to monitor the camera feed. If nudity is detected, the camera view will be completely blocked with an overlay. If users try to capture, record, or stream when such imagery is detected, the video or photo output will be covered by that same overlay.
When HarmBlock AI is scanning the camera feed, it takes less than one second between detecting nudity and blocking it with the overlay, in normal conditions (e.g., single-task scenarios such as browsing or viewing photos). This is where the second layer of protection comes in – HarmBlock AI continuously scans the phone’s storage to detect and delete nude imagery. In the rare case that the user of a HMD Fuse is able to capture a nude image before the overlay is activated, that file will be deleted from the phone by HarmBlock AI.
